orphaned joeys sew need pouches

After the bushfires a couple of months ago there was a call out for handmade cotton mittens for injured and burned Koalas. Now Wildlife rescuers are in need of soft cotton pouch liners for orphaned joeys. These were super easy to whip up. I made 5 sizes with a thrifted soft cotton flannette sheet.

    1. Isn't it, Joolz. My very old machine is on the brink but it will still sew a straight line, thankfully.

  2. Are they still needing the pouches, Zena? I was about to make some mittens for the koalas when it was announced that they had more than enough just after the fires. Your pouches look just great. Straight lines are so 'yesterday' anyway ....says she who is straight line challenged. LOL!

    1. Thank you. Yes still in need of joey pouches, Nanna Chel. They were inundated with Koala mittens because they got good media coverage.
